Ear infections
The infection usually affects the middle ear and is called otitis media. The tubes inside the ears become clogged with fluid and mucus. This can affect hearing, because sound cannot get through all that fluid.
Sinus infections (Sinusitis)
Sinusitis means your sinuses are inflamed. The cause can be an infection or another problem. Your sinuses are hollow air spaces within the bones surrounding the nose. They produce mucus, which drains into the nose. If your nose is swollen, this can block the sinuses and cause pain.
Allergies
An allergy is a reaction of your immune system to something that does not bother most other people. People who have allergies often are sensitive to more than one thing.
Hearing disorders/Hearing loss
There are two main types of hearing loss. One happens when your inner ear or auditory nerve is damaged. This type is permanent. The other kind happens when sound waves cannot reach your inner ear. Earwax build-up, fluid or a punctured eardrum can cause it.
Balance problems
A balance disorder is a condition that makes you feel unsteady or dizzy, as if you are moving, spinning, or floating, even though you are standing still or lying down. Balance disorders can be caused by certain health conditions, medications, or a problem in the inner ear or the brain.
Tinnitus (ear noise)
Tinnitus is often described as a ringing in the ears.
Earwax
The ear canal is lined with hair follicles and glands that produce a waxy oil called cerumen. The wax usually makes its way to the opening of the ear, where it falls out or is removed by washing. Wax can build up and block the ear canal. Wax blockage is one of the most common causes of hearing loss.
Ear aches
An earache can be a sharp, dull, or burning pain in one or both ears. The pain may be temporary or constant.
Acute sinusitis
An acute ear infection is a short and painful ear infection
Chronic sinusitis
Chronic ear infection is fluid, swelling, or an infection behind the eardrum that does not go away or keeps coming back, and causes long-term or permanent damage to the ear.
Sore throat
Most sore throats are caused by viruses, like ones that cause a cold or the flu. Some sore throats, like strep throat, are caused by bacteria.
Diseases of the larynx (voice box)
Laryngitis is the medical term for inflammation and swelling of the larynx, which is also known as the voice box. Most of the causes of laryngitis, such as common viruses infections or using your voice too much, are not serious. A few causes, however, require medical attention and can be cause for concern such as laryngeal cancer.
Voice and swallowing disorders (dysphagia)
The term dysphagia refers to the feeling of difficulty passing food or liquid from the mouth to the stomach.
Nosebleeds
Nosebleeds are very common. Most nosebleeds occur because of minor irritations or colds. They can be frightening for some patients, but are rarely life threatening.
The nose contains many small blood vessels that bleed easily. Air moving through the nose can dry and irritate the membranes lining the inside of the nose, forming crusts. These crusts bleed when irritated by rubbing, picking, or blowing the nose.
Post Nasal Drip
Mucus drainage in the back of the throat.
Headaches
The most common type of headache is a tension headache. Tension headaches are due to tight muscles in your shoulders, neck, scalp and jaw. They are often related to stress, depression or anxiety. You are more likely to get tension headaches if you work too much, don't get enough sleep, miss meals, or use alcohol.
