The Tulane Internal Medicine Hospitalist Service provides patient care and resident education within our affiliated hospitals, Medical Center of Louisiana-New Orleans, and the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Health Care System. Thirteen faculty members are academic hospitalists and are dedicated to providing excellent evidence-based patient care and education of our medical students and residents. With a focus on systems-based quality improvement, the Tulane hospitalists have held several academic and administrative appointments throughout the hospital system. Areas of interest for the hospitalist group include quality-improvement curriculum development, transitions of care, resident education, and strength of collaborative relationships with our community partners.

Southeastern Louisiana Veteran's Healthcare System Southeast Louisiana Veterans Health Care System (SLVHCS) provides quality, compassionate, and safe health care to Veteran patients throughout 23 parishes in southeast Louisiana. SLVHCS consists of eight community-based clinics including its location in the Bio-Medical District in New Orleans. Inpatient services are coordinated through community facilities, like Tulane Medical Center. As a model for health care of the future it sets the standards for patient-centered care, flexibility, and sustainability.
