As our expansion through transition continues, we have immediate access to temporary administrative space for our Faculty, Residents, Students, and Research staff on the East Jefferson Hospital’s Campus.

This office space, located on the 2nd floor of the 4315 Houma Boulevard building, is available for School of Medicine’s administrative or education activities on the East Jeff campus.  This space includes 18 offices, 12 cubicles, and a small conference room (for 8-12 people) and a break area.  All offices are equipped with LCMC Health wired computers and phones.  The office areas are currently available first-come/first-seated as “hotel” space.  The conference room is also currently available first-come/first-seated basis. Eventually the conference room and some of the offices will be accessible via an online reservation request system. Some offices may be assigned soon to certain departments, such as hospital-based departments.

The conference room is also available immediately, but eventually will be accessible via an online reservation request.

Details of the Space:

ADDRESS:  4315 Houma Blvd., the East Jefferson Professional Building in the horseshoe off West Esplanade Rd.

PARKING:  Esplanade Garage is closest.

LOCATION:  Second floor, Suite 200 (the former East Jefferson Cardiology Group location).

DIRECTIONS:  When you arrive on the second floor, Take the first hallway to your right as you leave the elevators. Suite 200 is the first door to your right – Access Code is 0200

As we continue to work to redevelop our permanent SOM space on the EJGH campus, we urge everyone to take advantage of this current administrative space.  It is a great opportunity to be on campus, build relationships, catch up on charts, study, take a call or host a meeting.

In order to retain and grow our Tulane patient appointments, referrals, and procedures, the  Tulane Doctors - One Call center is now open!   The easiest way for physicians or patients to book an appointment with Tulane providers is by calling 504.988.8864 (TUMG).

There are now will be three ways to book an appointment with a Tulane Physician:

Tulane Doctors – One Call Center: When a referring physician or a patient calls 504-988-TUMG (8864), they will be directed to TUMG-employed team members, who will schedule patients with Tulane providers unless a Tulane provider isn’t available.

One Call now allows both referring physicians and patients to schedule appointments within the Tulane system. The One Call Center will also assist patients with navigating clinics, legacy UHS, and TUMG clinics.

Please note that Orthopaedics, Oncology and Transplant services will be forwarded to the respective departments via referrals until additional booking protocols can be developed by these clinical areas.

UHS Call Center at EJGH: The DT clinic management is concerned about patient leakage and has developed a small central call center for Tulane-supported clinics at East Jefferson during the transition window.

LCMC central scheduling department: This department covers all LCMC services and focuses on the next available appointment and not necessarily keeping a Tulane patient in the Tulane system; therefore, when creating a referral, we urge everyone to add either the specific name of the physician you want the patient to see or add “Refer to TULANE PROVIDER” in the comments section of the referral.

Finally: Please note that it is vital that you encourage your clinical staff to schedule any future patient visits to a referring Tulane provider in addition to creating a referral before a patient checks out.

For additional information or questions, please email Joe Esneault at desneaul@tulane.edu .

During the transition from Tulane Medical Center downtown to East Jefferson General Hospital in Metairie, Tulane School of Medicine will operate a shuttle between the two hospital locations.

This shuttle is for medical students, residents/fellows, faculty and employees of Tulane School of Medicine. To ride the shuttle, a Tulane-issued Splash Card/ID must be worn in a visible fashion where it can be always seen.  (For clarity: You can’t keep it in your backpack or wallet, etc). If you need a lanyard or badge reel, visit the SoM Chief Business Office in Hutchinson Suite 1553 to pick one up at no charge.

Initial shuttle service will operate 7 days a week, starting on Wednesday, January 10, 2024. First pick up time is 5 a.m. in front of the Hutchinson Building. Trips will be made in anticipated 40-minute intervals, barring any traffic tie-ups and/or unforeseen delays.

The shuttle will pick up/drop off from the front of the Hutchinson Building at 1430 Tulane Avenue (under the bridge connecting to Tulane Medical Center) and will drop off/pick up in the circle in front of the EJGH main entrance.

To track the shuttle, download the Passio Mobile App. Select Tulane University and then select SOM/EJ Line - 504.454.7722. You may also visit tulaneshuttles.passiogo.com. Riders will need to be at pickup sites before the shuttle leave times.  If regular delays or problems are experienced with waiting times, we will work to find ways to address them. If no one is waiting, the shuttle will leave at the assigned time to keep persons on the other end from waiting.
