Optional Conferences

Optional conferences and lectures are frequently given at the Tulane University School of Public Health and the Louisiana Office of Public Health. Additional conferences and/or Grand Rounds in Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation are available at the Tulane University School of Medicine. If optional conferences conflict with practicum duties, attendance must be cleared with the rotation supervisor. Selected optional conferences are detailed below:

Teaching Activities

Residents are required to participate in at least one teaching activity during each year of residency training. Teaching activities may comprise presentations to peers, medical students or rotation staff personnel. All preventive medicine residents take part in protected didactic times and one half-day per month of teaching time.
