Welcome to the Tulane GWIMS website! The Tulane GWIMS was established in August 2018 with support from the Tulane SOM Dean's Office. The mission of the Group on Women in Medicine and Science (GWIMS) is to advance the full and successful participation and inclusion of women within academic medicine by addressing gender equity, recruitment and retention, awards and recognition, and career advancement. Tulane GWIMS is open to all students, residents, and faculty interested in promoting and developing clinical and basic science women leaders in medicine and science. We are proud to serve as a resource for search committees, deans and department chairs, to promote faculty recruitment practices that are inclusive of women. We also provide guidance and strategies for department chairs and division heads to effectively motivate and promote the career advancement of their women faculty members.
