Attention Start-Ups: Applications open until Aug. 19 for pitch slots at BIO on the BAYOU 2024

BIO on the Bayou, the premier event showcasing academic science and biotechnology from the Gulf South region, is now accepting applications for its EXPANDED roster of start-up pitch slots. Aspiring entrepreneurs and innovative start-ups with in the Gulf South region are invited to apply by 11:59 pm on August 19, 2024.

BIO on the Bayou presents university research the way YOU want it. This signature event—taking place on October 29 and 30—brings together senior executives and top decision-makers from corporate, investor, foundation, government, and academic sectors to advance cutting-edge research from the bench to the bedside.  

"BIO on the Bayou provides a platform for start-ups across our region to showcase their groundbreaking innovations to a diverse and influential audience," said Alexis Ducote, PhD, Business Development Associate at Tulane University School of Medicine, who coordinates the start-up roster, "The event highlights the often-overlooked ingenuity within the Gulf South region and fosters essential connections and collaborations that can propel these ideas to new heights."

BIO on the BAYOU organizers invite startup companies to apply for a chance to pitch. Because the main goal of this conference is to showcase the exciting life science research that is being conducted in the South—a region typically passed over by biotech investors—the startup companies must be connected to academic institutions based in the Gulf South, the multistate/territory region of Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Puerto Rico.
