The Human Genetics Graduate Program is a multidisciplinary, interdepartmental program combining the study of clinical genetics, biochemical genetics, molecular genetics, cytogenetics and statistical genetics with an emphasis on both basic research and genetic services. The interdepartmental structure is intended to allow faculty from various departments to contribute to the growing needs for research, teaching, and service in the field of human genetics.
Master of Science in Human Genetics
The Human Genetics Program offers a 1-year, post-baccalaureate Master of Science Degree with a concentration in Human Genetics. We are part of the Biomedical Sciences Graduate Program at Tulane University School of Medicine. Our program is a multidisciplinary, interdepartmental program combining clinical genetics, biochemical genetics, molecular genetics, population genetics and cytogenetics. PhD in Biomedical Sciences
All biomedical graduate programs are now administered through the Tulane University School of Medicine Graduate Program in Biomedical Sciences. We no longer offer a separate PhD degree in “Human Genetics”. Instead, our program is part of an interdisciplinary program in “Biomedical Sciences” which allows one to specialize in Human Genetics after their first year, should they choose to do so. For information about the PhD program, please visit the Biomedical Sciences website.
