The School of Medicine offers opportunities for staff to both participate in mentorship and develop the skills to become effective mentors. Explore the programs below to learn more about getting involved.
SAIDE Staff Mentorship Program
The Tulane School of Medicine Staff Mentorship Program is a volunteer-based initiative that pairs experienced Tulane staff members with newer staff seeking professional growth and development.
The program provides a supportive environment where participants can build meaningful connections, navigate workplace challenges, and enhance their effectiveness as they develop their personal and professional goals at Tulane. Participants also have the opportunity to expand their network, gain peer support, learn more about the University, and develop a deeper understanding of Tulane’s culture, resources, and career opportunities.
More information regarding the FY 28 Staff Mentorship Program will be available at a later date.
SAIDE Staff Mentor Development Program
To strengthen the mentorship experience and prepare future mentors for success, SAIDE has established the Staff Mentor Development Program.
The Staff Mentor Development Program is a six-month leadership and professional development program designed to prepare School of Medicine staff members to become effective mentors. Participants develop practical mentoring skills through interactive workshops, group discussions, self-reflection, activities, and real-world application.
The FY27 Staff Mentor Development Program will run from January through June 2027 and will include workshops, group meetings, practical activities, and a graduation ceremony.
Upon successful completion of the program, graduates will be expected to serve as mentors in the FY28 School of Medicine Staff Mentorship Program, allowing them to apply the knowledge and skills gained through training while supporting their colleagues' professional development.
