The Tulane Med-Peds Residency Program aims to train physician-healers adept at caring for diverse and historically marginalized patient populations. Our residents have the unique privilege to learn from the diverse and vibrant people of New Orleans, from the moment of birth through the end of life. They embrace the challenges inherent in working in under-resourced systems and strive to provide evidence-based, person-centered, community-engaged, and comprehensive medical care that mitigates health inequities.
We are a work in progress. Tulane’s complex history is filled with examples of outstanding service to the New Orleans community, and painful examples of falling short. The Tulane Med-Peds Residency Program is committed to developing and growing a workforce that reflects the rich diversity of race, of gender, of religious belief, of national origin, of ethnicity, of age, of ability, and of sexual orientation found in the unique community and culture of New Orleans.
