General Training Model
Thank you for your interest in clinical psychology internship training at Tulane University School of Medicine. Our internship program offers training in General Clinical Psychology with additional concentration in specific areas of clinical psychology. All interns receive training in evaluation and diagnosis; interventions, including empirically supported treatment models; consultation, and supervision, all with a focus on delivering ethical services that are responsive to individual and cultural diversity. We support and demonstrate scholarly approaches of knowledge acquisition and analysis.
Our program offers two tracks: Adult Psychology and Child Psychology. In the Adult Track, the major area of study is Forensic Psychology. In the Child Track, the major area of study is Infant Mental Health.
Applicants should specify an interest in being considered for either the Adult or Child Track. These preferences will be used for arranging interviews only and for no other purpose.

The Tulane School of Medicine was founded in 1834 as the first medical college in the Deep South, and is among the oldest medical schools in the country. The Tulane University School of Medicine Clinical Psychology Internship was formed in 1983, and was APA-accredited in 1984. We have trained clinical psychology interns every year since, with the exception of the two years following Hurricane Katrina.
For the 2025-2026 academic year, we are accepting one intern in our Adult Track, forensic focus, and two interns in our Child Track, infant mental health focus. The Tulane clinical psychology internship has been continuously APA-accredited since 1984.
