Biography
Dr. Lauren Broussard has joined Tulane’s Section of General Internal Medicine and Geriatrics as an Assistant Professor of Medicine and clinical geriatrician. A proud native of New Orleans, she holds a bachelor’s degree in biology and psychology from Louisiana State University and attended medical school at LSU Health Sciences Center-Shreveport. She completed her family medicine residency at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, where she distinguished herself as Chief Resident in her final year. She then pursued a fellowship in Geriatrics at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. We are delighted that Dr. Broussard is returning home to Louisiana to care and support for our aging population.
Dr. Broussard provides geriatric care through the Healthy Brain Aging Initiative at University Medical Center-New Orleans and the Southeastern Veterans Healthcare System. Her professional interests include dementia and other neurocognitive disorders, falls prevention, polypharmacy, post-acute care, and geriatric medical education.
