Gabriella Pridjian, MD, MBA, Wins Spirit of Charity Award

Gabriella Pridjian, MD, MBA, Associate Dean of Surgical Services, Professor and Chairman & the C. Jeff Miller, Chair in Obstetrics & Gynecology at the Tulane University School of Medicine, has been awarded the 2024 Spirit of Charity Award.

The Spirit of Charity Foundation has been presenting the award since 1998 to a physician who has made strides in the healing and teaching wards of the historic Charity Hospital. Physician nominees must hold a faculty position, be Tulane School of Medicine or LSU graduates, or have completed residency training at one of these esteemed institutions. Each nominee should embody the mission of Charity Hospital and demonstrate a profound impact on medicine through their contributions to service, leadership, research, or education. Members of the SOCF Board elect and vote for nominees.

Dr. Pridjian has authored numerous publications, lectured globally, and conducted extensive research in preeclampsia, prenatal diagnosis, pregnancy loss, and metabolic disorders in pregnancy. Describing herself as a “learning facilitator” rather than a professor, she finds the most affirming moments are when her residents can decide the most appropriate course of action on their own. Her contributions have changed lives and made significant impacts on the medical community.
