R. Osvaldo Navia MD, MBA, Named Inaugural Section Chief of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine
Tulane University School of Medicine has appointed R. Osvaldo Navia, MD, MBA, as the inaugural Section Chief of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine and the Myrna L. Daniels Chair in Geriatric Medicine. A nationally recognized leader in geriatric and palliative care, Dr. Navia brings more than two decades of experience advancing innovative models of care, education, and research. His leadership marks a major step in Tulane’s commitment to improving care for Louisiana’s aging population and patients with serious illness.
Academic Programs
Tulane's Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship offers a unique training experience, combining classical, ACGME-approved palliative care curriculum with integrative medicine, resilience training, and international rotations, ensuring fellows are well-prepared to serve diverse communities in the culturally rich environment of New Orleans.
The Tulane Geriatric Medicine Fellowship Program's mission is to provide exceptional geriatric care to residents of the state of Louisiana and expand the medical knowledge of fellows, residents, medical students, and agencies providing geriatric care.
