Yuwen Li, MD, PhD

Dr. Li has just completed ABMGG-accredited training in Clinical Molecular Genetics and has previously completed the Cytogenetics training at the Hayward Genetics Center and is ABMGG board-certified in Clinical Cytogenetics.  Dr. Li will actively participate in expanding cancer genetic testing and help develop new non-invasive genetic screening methods for prenatal testing.

Having received his Ph.D. from Tulane University School of Medicine, and his M.D. from Jianghan University Medical School in Wuhan, China, Dr. Yuwen Li has been an Assistant Professor (Clinical Track), in the Tulane University Department of Pediatrics since July 2018. He has served as the Director of Molecular Genetics Diagnostic Laboratory, Hayward Genetics Center at Tulane and Program Director Elect of Laboratory Genetics and Genomics (LGG) Fellowship (ACGME) Program, Tulane Hayward Genetics Center since 2022.

Dr. Li, joining the Pathology Department as an Adjunct Assistant Professor, has been directing the genetics rotation for pathology residents and fellows.
