We foster a culture of inquiry, innovation, and lifelong learning by providing residents with meaningful opportunities to engage in research, quality improvement, advocacy, medical education, and other scholarly pursuits.
Residents work closely with dedicated faculty mentors to develop projects that align with their interests and career goals, while gaining experience in study design, data analysis, quality improvement methodology, and scholarly dissemination.
The program supports resident participation in local, regional, and national conferences, where residents regularly present posters, platform presentations, and educational exhibits. The program provides funding once per academic year per resident to present at a conference. By covering registration, travel and hotel, we seek to foster our residents' ability to network and share their knowledge on a wider scale.
Through structured mentorship, protected scholarly activities, and access to the broad academic resources of Tulane University and its affiliated clinical sites, residents graduate with the skills needed to critically evaluate evidence, contribute to advances in child health, and become leaders in academic pediatrics.
