Biography

Dr. Katherine Cox has been named the Program Director for the Department of Anesthesiology Residency Training Program. She is the first woman to serve in this role.  Dr. Cox joined the department in 2016 and was the Assistant Program Director at the LSU Shreveport Medical Center before coming to Tulane. She received her undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge Magna cum Laude and did her residency in Anesthesiology at LSU Shreveport. Dr. Cox is a member of the department’s “Doctor of the Day” work group responsible for the daily management of the Tulane OR. She is board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology, and has completed the Basic PTEeXAM Certification in transesophageal echocardiography from the National Board of Echocardiography.
