Biography
Dr. Wei Chen is a genetic epidemiologist of cardiovascular disease and has been working with the Bogalusa Heart Study as a senior investigator for 20 years. He has a broad background and experience in epidemiology, genetics and epigenetics of cardiovascular disease, diabetes, metabolic syndrome and hypertension, fetal and childhood origins of chronic diseases, epidemiologic methodology, and longitudinal analysis models. As principal investigator, he has been awarded 12 NIH and American Heart Association-funded research projects in the above research areas. Dr. Chen has published more than 200 peer-reviewed scientific research articles.
