Charisse Ward, MD, MPH, joined the Section of Cardiology/Tulane University Heart and Vascular Institute in 2017.  Dr. Ward received her Bachelor of Science degree, with distinction, from the University of the Virgin Islands and received her medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine. She served honorably as a Commissioned Officer in the United States Navy for five years and then completed her residency in internal medicine at Yale University. She remained at Yale, completing fellowships in general cardiology, advanced heart failure/heart transplant, peripheral vascular and interventional cardiology. She joined Tulane from private practice in Texas, where she provided general cardiology, interventional cardiology and endovascular services. At Tulane, she focuses on interventional cardiology, including complex coronary revascularization and the treatment of peripheral vascular disease.
