Sudhir Sinha, Ph.D.

Biography

Dr Sudhir Sinha has been CEO of InnoGenomics Technologies, LLC, a research and development company located in downtown New Orleans, since 2010. He is also an adjunct professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the School of Medicine, Tulane University, as well as a fellow of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences (AAFS).   Dr Sinha is a successful entrepreneur. In 1990, prior to establishing InnoGenomics, Dr. Sinha was a founder, majority owner and laboratory director at ReliaGene Technologies, an accredited DNA testing facility located in the New Orleans metropolitan area. In 2007, ReliaGene was acquired by an international public company - Orchid Cellmark.   With over 36 years' experience in chemical and biochemical research and management, Dr. Sinha is well-recognized in the international scientific community, authoring numerous research papers, holding various patents, and having presented his work at many international conferences. Dr Sinha has chaired workshops and scientific sessions at the American Academy of Forensic Sciences and at the AABB (American Association of Blood Banks) annual meetings. For the purposes of expert witness testimony, Dr. Sinha has been qualified as an expert in molecular biology and DNA analysis in twenty-four jurisdictions throughout the United States.   Dr. Sinha was instrumental in designing and producing the first commercial male specific Y-STR DNA testing kit for the forensic community (Y-PLEX) and was a member of the Y-STR database consortium established by the National Institute of Justice (NIJ). He was awarded an export promotion award by the US Department of Commerce for this DNA testing kit.

His academic background includes a Ph.D. in chemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology in Kanpur, India, and post doctorate training at the University of Miami Medical Center, including a position as research associate professor in the Departments of Biochemistry and Medicine at the University of Miami. He was chairman of the Board of Directors of Forensic Quality Services (FQS), an ISO 17025 accrediting organization for forensic laboratories (2008-2010).

Dr. Sinha is currently a member of the Louisiana State Medi-Fund Board appointed by the Governor.
