Dr. Chandarana is an adult forensic psychiatrist and currently works at the state forensic hospital and a correctional facility. She provides clinical care for patients with mental health care issues whose lives have intersected with the law. In her position, with the assistance of other doctors and in the maintenance of objectivity, she also performs forensic evaluations.

Dr. Chandarana joined Tulane University’s faculty in 2020 upon the completion of her Forensic Psychiatry fellowship. In her position with the department, she educates medical students, residents, and fellows by providing supervision and didactic seminars. Dr. Chandarana has a diverse background, as she also trained in Pathology prior to completing her residency in Psychiatry. Because of her experience, she has a unique perspective and utilizes her background when approaching clinical care and forensic evaluations. Psychologic Autopsy is her primary interest.
