Biography

Monique M. Young, ACNP-BC, CVNP-BC was born in New Orleans and raised in Saint Bernard Parish.  She graduated from Our Lady of Holy Cross, New Orleans, Louisiana in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.  She worked with critically ill pediatric patients at Ochsner Medical Center in Jefferson, Louisiana until 2000, and then transferred to the adult ward of Chalmette Medical Center in Chalmette, Louisiana and worked in a very demanding emergency room and cardiac catheterization laboratory.  In 2003 she joined Louisiana Heart Center in Chalmette, Louisiana, a multi-specialty cardiology group, and cared for patients with coronary and peripheral vascular disease.  She was directly involved with their research studies and a served as a sub-investigator.  She graduated from the University of South Alabama in 2010 with a Master of Science and certification as an adult acute care nurse practitioner.  She obtained cardiology certification prior to joining the cardiology team at Tulane University School of Medicine and has been working with the Tulane cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology teams since September 2021.
