Evan Atkinson earned his medical degree from LSU in New Orleans, where he also completed a combined residency in Internal Medicine & Pediatrics in 2014. He completed a fellowship in Allergy & Immunology at Tulane in 2016. He is involved with medical education and has clinics at the New Orleans VA. He engages in policy development for VA allergists at the regional and national levels. He is also Tulane's Histocompatibility (HLA) Laboratory Director. He is board-certified in Allergy/Immunology (ABAI) and Histocompatibility & Immunogenetics (ACHI), and he is a Fellow of both the American Academy and College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (FAAAAI and FACAAI). In his prior life, Evan was an engineer. After earning a combined BS/MS degree in biomedical engineering at Tulane in 1999, he worked for the JHU Applied Physics Laboratory, where he also earned a MS degree in computer science.
