Biography

Dr. Stephanie Rubin is an academic hospitalist at the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Healthcare system and a core faculty member for the Internal Medicine-Pediatrics residency program.  Born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, Dr. Rubin relocated to New Orleans in 2007 and received her bachelor’s degree in Anthropology and Spanish from Tulane University in 2011.  A proud Tulanian, she went on to earn a master’s degree and her medical doctorate from Tulane and completed her residency training in Internal Medicine-Pediatrics at the Tulane University School of Medicine in 2020. Following residency training, Dr. Rubin joined the VA as a primary care physician in the Women’s Health clinic where she became an adjunct instructor and clinical preceptor to Tulane Internal Medicine residents completing their primary care training. In July of 2022 she made the transition to Hospital Medicine at the VA where she is thrilled to continue working in both medical student and resident education.

Dr. Rubin's clinical interests include sexual/reproductive health, palliative medicine, and improving transitions from the hospital to the outpatient setting. When not at work, she enjoys rooting for any Philadelphia sports team and exploring the city with her rescue dogs, Phil and Kelce.
