Biography

Dr. Monica Dhand completed her medical doctorate degree at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA followed by her internal medicine residency at Tulane University School of Medicine. She subsequently served as Chief Resident for the Tulane University Internal Medicine residency program from 2011-2012. After working as a hospitalist in private practice in New Orleans, she returned to Tulane in 2014 and joined the faculty as an Assistant Professor and academic hospitalist. She is a Co-Director of the Tulane Resident Initiative in Global Health (RIGHT) program, which provides education and skills training for residents interested in global health and work in underserved countries. She practices with Doctors without Borders and has traveled to several countries including Peru, Brazil, Myranmar, Sudan, and India as a medical manager and coordinator of care. She volunteers and precepts medical students and residents locally at several of the student health clinics including Ozanam Inn and Grace House.
