Brett Wilkinson, MD

Dr. Brett Wilkinson is an academic hospitalist at the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Healthcare System and a core faculty member for the Internal Medicine residency program. Born and raised in Beaumont, Texas, Dr. Wilkinson moved to New Orleans in 2015 to complete his medical residency and has remained in New Orleans since. After completing a year as chief resident, Dr. Wilkinson spent 3 years working as a primary care provider in Chalmette, LA before returning to work at the VA Hospital in 2022. 

Dr. Wilkinson's primary interests are medical education, hospital medicine and quirky medical trivia. When not at work, he enjoys all things Texas Longhorns sports and spending time with his wife and daughters. Watch for Dr. Wilkinson during Mardi Gras, dancing with the 610 Stompers!
