Biography
Dr. Helen Pope was raised in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and received her BA in Public Health from Beloit College in Beloit, Wisconsin, before returning to Iowa for her MD at Carver College of Medicine. She completed residency in Internal Medicine at Tulane University and happily joined the faculty in 2019. Her other responsibilities include operating the Student Clinic Council which runs free community health clinics at shelters and substance use centers in 22 locations around the city. She has a passion for meeting patients where they are, teaching medical students and residents, and the sharing the joy that is internal medicine. In her free time, she gardens, builds wooden furniture, and fosters shelter dogs.
