Biography

Dr. Kristin M. Bateman is the Clinical Competency Chair and an Associate Program Director for the Internal Medicine residency program. She joined the Section of General Internal Medicine as an Assistant Professor of Medicine in 2016 and practices as an academic hospitalist at Tulane Medical Center. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Bioengineering at the University of Pennsylvania, a Master of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences at Mount Sinai School of Medicine and Doctor of Medicine degree at Jefferson Medical College. Dr. Bateman then migrated South to New Orleans where she completed residency in Internal Medicine at Tulane University School of Medicine in 2015, followed by a year as Chief Resident in 2015-2016. She has been recognized for her teaching with the Tulane Owl Club award, the Best Faculty at Tulane Medicine Center Attending Award, Best Inpatient Attending by the Internal Medicine Residency, and the Department of Medicine Teaching Award.

Her primary interests are in medical education, particularly in curriculum development and improving the evaluation process.
