Alexis Ducote

Alexis Ducote, PhD  is the Business Development Associate at Tulane University School of Medicine, where he facilitates collaborations between researchers and industry partners to drive innovation and commercialization. With a PhD in neuroscience from Tulane’s own Mostany Lab and experience in computational modeling, he brings a deep understanding of biomedical research to the business development space, enabling effective matchmaking between Tulane’s scientific strengths and industry needs.

In his role, Alexis works to identify opportunities for industry-sponsored research, ventures, and strategic alliances. He engages with biotech and pharmaceutical companies, venture capital groups, and other stakeholders to foster long-term partnerships that leverage Tulane’s expertise in translational research. He regularly represents Tulane at national and international conferences, including BIO International and the Society for Neuroscience, where he engages in partnering meetings, promotes Tulane’s research capabilities, and keeps a finger on the pulse of market direction and disruptions.  

A key part of his work is scientific communication—bridging the gap between diverse audiences, from laypeople engaging with Tulane’s research on social media to technical experts involved in cutting-edge biomedical innovation. He develops research digests, manages external communications, and ensures that complex scientific advancements are effectively conveyed to a range of stakeholders.
