Biography
Dr. Tran is originally from the Bay Area in California. At the University of California, Berkeley, she studied Nutritional Science as she loves the uniqueness yet universality of food. After her undergraduate studies, she returned to her hometown and was an educator with City Year, an AmeriCorps program supporting students from elementary through high school. Her interest in food and investment in community service drew her to Tulane University School of Medicine. As a medical student, she supported community outreach events at the Goldring Center for Culinary Medicine; managed Grace House Clinic, a student-run clinic serving women recovering from substance use; and advocated for Asian and Pacific Islander healthcare needs as a Regional Director of the Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association.
Dr. Tran's interests outside of work include DIY projects, musical theater, art fairs, and food festivals. She has two adopted plants: Lily and Calathea.
Why Tulane?
As a Tulane medical student, I began to establish relationships with the people and organizations in the area, which I hope to continue to grow and flourish in the years to come. Additionally, Tulane is nestled in New Orleans, where there is no shortage of cuisine and culture to embrace!
