Keaton N. Ott, MD
Medical Resident
Biography
A native of New Orleans, Keaton attended Tulane University School of Medicine (TUSOM), where he first became fascinated by the field of pathology during his pre-clinical anatomy and histology courses. His initial interest grew further, leading him to choose pathology as his career with aspirations to pursue a forensic pathology fellowship alongside a second forensics-complementary fellowship. In his free time, Keaton enjoys board game nights with his friends, horror/sci-fi/crime books and media, and painting/sculpting. His favorite restaurant in New Orleans is Chophouse.
During his time at TUSOM, Keaton had the opportunity to rotate through many of the services at Tulane’s program. He found that every attending physician he met was committed to helping residents and students learn each day. Also, many residents went the extra mile to teach, offer advice, and help him refine his residency applications. He believes this extra effort shown by the faculty and residents towards an interested medical student was very telling of the types of people at Tulane’s program, which played a significant role in his decision to choose Tulane for his residency education. Keaton also hoped to stay in New Orleans for residency to remain close to his family and friends, and because he finds New Orleans to be an exciting place to live, with something going on around the city almost every week. Staying a few more years in a place like New Orleans was an easy decision for him to make.
