Phoenix Hwaung, MD

Phoenix Hwaung, originally from Baton Rouge, completed her medical education at LSU Health New Orleans School of Medicine. With a career interest in hematopathology and dermatopathology, Phoenix enjoys reading, playing video games like Hollow Knight, watching horror movies, and exploring diverse foods. Her favorite restaurant in New Orleans is Osteria Lupo.

Phoenix chose Tulane for her residency because the program’s size fosters close relationships with faculty and fellow residents, allowing for a more personalized training experience. She was also drawn to New Orleans for its vibrant restaurant scene and numerous food festivals.
