Phoenix Hwaung, MD

Phoenix Hwaung, originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, graduated from Louisiana State University Health New Orleans School of Medicine. She will be pursuing a fellowship in hematopathology.

Phoenix chose Tulane for her residency because the size of the program fosters close relationships with faculty and fellow residents, allowing for a more personalized training experience. She was drawn to New Orleans for its vibrant restaurant scene and numerous food festivals. Her favorite restaurant in New Orleans is Osteria Lupo. In her free time, Phoenix enjoys reading, playing video games like Hollow Knight, watching horror movies, and trying new foods.
