What are the strengths about Tulane's program?
The camaraderie between the residents and faculty, the level of support from staff and our program director, and the diverse patient population here in New Orleans, all drove me to come to Tulane. The warm and welcoming atmosphere created by the residents, attendings and our program director––Dr. Dennar––really helped this program stand out. I immediately felt comfortable opening up and being my enthusiastic self. I feel very supported here and have developed a close group of friends.

What’s your relationship like with your co-residents?
Amazing! I feel so incredibly lucky to have a close group of friends that I can turn to for anything. I have made friends with both Tulane and LSU IM, EM, OBGYN and pediatrics interns, as well as upper level residents in all of these respective fields. As cliché as it might sound, I know that the friendships that I have made are ones that will last a lifetime.

What do you like to do outside of medicine?
I am a very adventurous person: I've bungee jumped the “bridge to nowhere” in the San Gabriel Mountains, skydived from 18,000 feet, took a flight lesson in Santa Monica, and have gone whitewater rafting in the Kern River. One day I hope to go wingsuit flying. I also enjoy hosting game nights and playing games like charades, ticket to ride, and settlers of catan!

What advice would you give to someone moving to New Orleans?
Living in certain areas like of New Orleans (like Uptown) can be expensive. Although Uptown is inarguably beautiful, there are plenty of other areas that are also nice to live in and are more affordable. For example, I live in mid-city and love it!
