Joseph Keating, PhD, MA

Biography

Joseph Keating is an epidemiologist with a focus on vector-borne disease. His current research focuses on malaria epidemiology and control in the context of elimination. Keating has served as a consultant for the World Bank; USAID; and the Global Fund to Fight Aids, Tuberculosis and Malaria. He currently serves as a reviewer for the Military Infectious Disease Research Program and the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program. He teaches impact evaluation at the graduate level and a undergraduate seminar style course focused on issues and strategies for disease control and prevention. Prior to joining the faculty at Tulane, he was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and a US Peace Corp Volunteer in The Gambia. He received his PhD in international health from Tulane University and his MA in international affairs from Ohio University.
