Biography

Dr. Aponte Rivera is a bilingual (English/Spanish) and bicultural child and adolescent psychiatrist interested in the mental health of minority children and families; particularly immigrant Latino children and their families. She has extensive experience working with immigrant communities through research activities, direct patient care and community service.  The education and development of culturally competent physicians and mental health professionals are of great importance to her.  Dr. Aponte Rivera is also interested in interdisciplinary approaches to patient care.
