Dr. Joseph (Joe) Lasky earned his medical degree at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, and then completed his Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine at the Mayo Clinic. Dr. Lasky attended Duke University in Durham, NC, for a Fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care. During his fellowship he acquired basic science research skills at the National Institute of Environmental Health Science. He is currently a Tenured Professor of Medicine, the Pulmonary/Critical Care Section Chief, and the Deming Chair for Internal Medicine at Tulane University Medical School.

Dr. Lasky is board certified in Internal Medicine and Pulmonary Diseases. He is a member of the American College of Chest Physicians, American Thoracic Society and European Respiratory Society. He has been selected for the Best Doctors in America® recognition for over the past decade. Dr. Lasky’s main clinical and research interest is the study of pulmonary fibrosis (lung scarring). Dr. Lasky is an author on over 125 publications pertaining to pulmonary fibrosis, which span basic molecular science to clinical trials. He has been engaged in designing, conducting, and monitoring clinical lung studies, and has been involved in writing medical society guidelines for the care of patients with lung fibrosis. He serves as the Site Principal Investigator for numerous ongoing trials that aim to improve upon care for patients with pulmonary fibrosis. He also serves as Chief Medical Officer the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation. The Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation (PFF) is leading the charge to find a cure for pulmonary fibrosis
