Biography
Dr. Boniske earned Bachelor of Arts in mathematics and economics from the University of California Santa Barbara. She spent several years as a mathematician; data consulting for Kaiser Permanente, designing brain training game algorithms with Dr Michael Merzenich at Posit Science and expanding the Archimedes Model, a virtual clinical trial simulation environment with Dr David Eddy, a pioneer in the union of math and medicine.
She then followed her heart into clinical medicine, graduating from Tel Aviv School of Medicine and then completing residency in internal medicine at St Mary’s Hospital in San Francisco. While applying to fellowship, she had the opportunity to work in a well-funded rehab hospital where she was inspired by the humanity and compassion of hospice. She then completed her pulmonary and critical care fellowship at Tulane University.
Her interests include communication in the ICU, end of life, physician well-being and advocating for rights of our incarcerated patients. She is the mom of 2 small humans, loves music, hiking and camping and has been converted from a California girl to a New Orleans devotee.
Dr. Boniske is currently board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Diseases, and Critical Care Medicine..She joined Tulane Faculty as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine in 2019 where she practices at University Medical Center, New Orleans.
