Michelle Fradella Gerarve, RD, CSO, LDN

Michele Fradella, RD, CSO, LDN is the originator of the Nutrition Services program at Tulane Cancer Center and one of seven Board Certified Specialist in Oncology Nutrition in the state of Louisiana. She is an active member of the New Orleans Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and has served on the board for the past 4 years during which time she was acknowledged by the Louisiana Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics as the Recognized Young Dietitian of the Year.

Tulane Nutrition Services is an unrestricted part of cancer care that is available to all patients who are currently under treatment as well as to our survivors. Services includes a nutrition screening conducted prior to the start of treatment, symptom management following the start of chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy, Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant nutrition education, weight loss counseling, weight gain counseling, and general nutrition education. The services are designed to optimize nutrition status throughout the entire treatment process as well as post-treatment. All services are available per the patient and/or caregiver’s request or by referral from one of our team members.
