What is one piece of advice you’d give to a new intern? Ask questions early, stay organized, and make an effort to build friendships with your co-residents.
Favorite spot in New Orleans: I love Audubon Park. It’s a beautiful place with great running trails and plenty of green space to relax and spend time outside.

Why do you love Tulane IM? I love Tulane IM because of the people. I’ve made lifelong friends here, and I have tremendous respect for our faculty and the way they teach and support residents. Even though it is a large program, it still feels personal and supportive. We also receive outstanding training, with exposure to complex cases, advanced heart failure, and transplant medicine. I appreciate that the program continues to evolve in response to resident feedback and the needs of the community.

Why did you want to be a chief resident? I’m passionate about resident education, program improvement, and working as part of a big team. I wanted the opportunity to support our residents and help continue improving the program.
Most surprising thing learned during residency: We still use pagers! Some of them have catchy ringtones.
Go-to post-call meal: Beignets, usually after a long call or at the airport before leaving for vacation.

What is one piece of advice you’d give to a new intern? Take life a day at a time! Your goal intern year isn’t to be perfect. It's to learn how to how to write notes, put in orders, and get comfortable operating independently.

Hobbies: running, pickleball, yoga, mahjong
Why do you love Tulane IM? Our residency is built on camaraderie and collaboration. I've never hesitated to seek guidance from an attending when faced with clinical uncertainty, and I genuinely enjoy working alongside my fellow residents. The lifelong friendships I've formed are among the greatest gifts of my training.

Hobbies: photography, growing hot peppers, and playing ultimate frisbee
Favorite part of New Orleans: Mardi Gras. It is such a unique experience to be in this city and see the liveliness, creativity, and sense of community that surround it.
