Personal Interests: Psychiatry, of course! Learning about the brain, neuroendocrinology, psychology; watching Ted talks and nature documentaries.  Reading everything (graphic novels, sci-fi, works by science writers, fiction, etc), yoga, cooking, watching movies, listening to and making music, traveling, writing, fire-spinning, making bad art, listening to Radiolab, playing outdoors, eating spicy food. 

What I Like About Tulane/New Orleans/Biloxi: I love New Orleans because it is such a vibrant city - full of culture, crazy costumes, and friendly people. The food is delicious, the people are laid-back, and the weather is glorious (even the hot summers!).  Best of all, there is music and art everywhere all the time! Everyone loves to have fun. The faculty and residents at Tulane are interestingly well-rounded, intelligent, and fun-loving - it's an inspiring bunch to be around! I love the Gulf Coast because there's so many outdoor activities I can do - jogging on the beach, hiking and camping in the nearby pine forest, swimming with dolphins and sting rays on Ship island.   The VA hospital staff are friendly and caring, and the hospital provides wonderful resources to its veterans.
