About: Neel grew up Massachusetts then studied Physiology and Neurobiology at UConn. He organized a service trip to work with Rebuilding Together New Orleans his senior year, his first time visiting the city. After college he taught Astronomy at Thomas Jefferson High School in Dallas as a member of Teach for America. With 10 weeks off every summer he took a liking to road tripping around the country, visiting the beautiful parks that America has to offer along with a spontaneous trip to see a total solar eclipse. Apart from this Neel enjoys bike touring, board games, hosting, woodworking, costuming, Mardi Gras, live music, exploring New Orleans/Louisiana, and spending time with his dog, Link.

Why I love Tulane/New Orleans: I love Tulane because it has given me the opportunity to practice medicine in the greatest city on Earth! New Orleans is an epicenter of culture, art, and diversity but also of health inequity. We work hard, caring for patients who are both medically and psychiatrically complicated but we also maintain our identities as humans rather than small cogs the immense healthcare apparatus. I could not imagine training anywhere other than here.

Professional Interests: Neel is interested street psychiatry and primary care.
