George Sayde, MD, MPH

Biography
George is originally from the Philadelphia area. He studied Physics at the University of Pennsylvania, where he also worked as a mathematics teaching assistant and conducted research in computational neuroscience. George was drawn to Tulane University for medical training due to the strong clinical focus and commitment to serving the New Orleans community. After earning his MD and MPH in 2018, George continued his training in Tulane's combined Internal Medicine and Psychiatry residency program. The opportunity to develop skills in both specialties and treat patients' comorbidities as one provider has been very rewarding and meaningful work. George's clinical and academic interests include ICU-related psychological distress, post-intensive care syndrome (PICS), psychosomatic medicine, and psychodynamic psychotherapy in the medical setting. He is passionate about integrative and creative treatment approaches to both medically and psychiatrically complex patients.
