Why did you choose Tulane?

There were a ton of reasons why I decided to do my residency at Tulane, but I think the main factors affecting my decision were the ability to stay close to home while doing my Pediatrics training, the chance to help improve the lives of kids in a resource-poor community, and the opportunity to split my time learning from the staff at both Children’s Hospital and Ochsner. New Orleans has some of the best pediatric healthcare centers in the south and as a result patients from all over the world with a variety of diseases come here for treatment. Having done clinical rotations in Pediatrics at both Ochsner and Children’s as a medical student I got a firsthand look at all of the opportunities residents get while at Tulane and was excited to have the chance to work with the great faculty and staff at these hospitals during my residency.

What are you areas of interest within the field of Pediatrics?

PICU

What are your interests outside of medicine?

I am a huge sports fan, particularly basketball (Geaux Pels!). I enjoy traveling and hope to eventually make it to all 7 continents. I also love cooking, particularly BBQ, and even have a team in Hogs for the Cause - a national barbecue competition raising money for families of children fighting pediatric brain cancer.
