William Gilbert, MD

Dr. William (Bill) Gilbert was born and raised in Gulfport, Mississippi. He received his Bachelor of Science from Mississippi State University in Starkville, MS and his M.D. from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. He completed residency in Internal Medicine and the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia and then a Global Health Fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He has also completed the Gorgas Course in Clinical Tropical Medicine in Lima, Peru in 2020.

Dr. Gilbert joined the Section of General Internal Medicine as an Assistant Professor of Medicine in 2020 and serves as an Academic Hospitalist at University Medical Center and Tulane Medical Center.
