Biography
Timothy J. Skalak is a board eligible pediatric orthopaedic surgeon and part of the medical staff of Children’s Hospital of New Orleans. Dr. Skalak was appointed Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Tulane University School of Medicine. He received his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from Columbia University and medical degree from Ohio State University. Dr. Skalak completed his orthopaedic surgery internship at Wayne State University and orthopaedic surgery residency at William Beaumont Hospital. He went on to complete further training by completing a fellowship in pediatric orthopaedic surgery and scoliosis surgery at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. During his fellowship year, Dr. Skalak completed the highest volume of surgical cases of any fellow in the United States. He is a candidate active member of the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America, candidate member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics Orthopedics Section.
An active educator of orthopaedic surgery residents from Tulane as well as 3 other programs, Dr. Skalak has a passion for teaching and research. His clinical expertise includes all areas pediatric orthopaedics including spinal deformity and scoliosis including vertebral tethering, hip preservation including periacetabular osteotomy, as well as trauma and sports medicine.
His mission is to provide the highest quality of compassionate care to your child and is excited to help you and your family navigate all areas of pediatric orthopaedic care.
