Luis Arencibia, MD

Dr. Luis R. Arencibia is a board-certified Family Medicine physician and has been serving the greater New Orleans area since 2008. A South Florida native, he moved to New Orleans in 2005 to complete his residency at East Jefferson General Hospital, where he has been a part of the medical staff ever since. Dr. Arencibia has held various leadership roles, including Chief of Staff in 2018, and has diverse experience ranging from medical director of a Metairie Urgent Care Clinic to Wound Care specialist. He also practices hyperbaric medicine and has been involved in disaster medical assistance at a federal level. 

In 2015, Dr. Arencibia founded a Direct Primary Care practice, focusing on high-quality, cost-efficient healthcare. We are so excited to welcome Dr. Arencibia's VIP Healthcare Practice to our family of primary care service lines in Metairie. In addition, Dr. Arencibia will be lending his expertise as Medical Director of Tulane Doctors - Connected Care. He has been an adjunct staff preceptor for the EJGH Family Medicine Residency since 2011 and enjoys educating medical professionals across the nation. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he was part of a coalition that developed best practices for hospital and nursing home care, earning commendations from the LDH and CDC. Fluent in Spanish, Dr. Arencibia is also active in his community through the EJGH Foundation and enjoys coaching youth baseball and playing guitar.
