Biography
Dr. Barrett Hawkins is an Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery specializing in trauma and is board-eligible by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. Hawkins is native to Tulsa, Oklahoma, but has made New Orleans his home over the last decade and a half. He is a quadruple alumnus, having completed his undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering, Master of Anatomy, Doctor of Medicine, and Residency in Orthopaedics at Tulane University. We are so pleased to welcome him back to the Tulane family after he completed a trauma fellowship at the Orlando Regional Medical Center.
He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Orthopaedic Trauma Association, and AO of North America Trauma Society. Dr. Hawkins specializes in treating simple and complex fractures throughout the body, including periarticular fractures of the extremities, pelvis/acetabulum fractures, periprosthetic fractures, and nonunions and malunions. He sees patients at University Medical Center of New Orleans.
