Biography

Taylor M. Fontenot, MD, was born and raised in New Iberia, LA, and pursued undergraduate studies in Biology at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She completed her medical school training at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine in New Orleans, LA. She completed her general surgery residency at the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV in Las Vegas, NV. She completed her Surgical Critical Care Fellowship at Duke University Hospital. Dr. Fontenot has pursued surgical outcomes and quality improvement research with multiple presentations and publications. Her areas of research interest include ethics, surgical education, and acute care surgery. Dr. Fontenot currently serves as the Medical Student Clerkship Director for the Department of Surgery. Outside of work, Taylor enjoys spending time with her two dogs, friends, and family. She is a passionate reader, traveler, and live music enthusiast.
