Biography
Dr. Wassim Abi Jaoude is an Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Tulane University School of Medicine. He sees patients at the Tulane Cardiology Clinic in Metairie, Louisiana.
Dr. Abi Jaoude earned his medical degree and completed a General Surgery residency at the Lebanese University in Beirut, followed by a second General Surgery residency at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY, and a Cardiothoracic Surgery fellowship at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics in Madison, WI. He is board certified by both the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery.
Before joining Tulane, Dr. Abi Jaoude served as the sole thoracic surgeon at Reading Hospital in Pennsylvania, where he led several initiatives including the development of robotic bronchoscopy and multidisciplinary lung cancer care. His clinical interests include thoracic oncology, sublobar lung resection, and minimally invasive thoracic and foregut surgery.
