Domnica Fotino, MD, MPH

Dr. Domnica Fotino is an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine at Tulane University.  She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Smith College in Northampton, MA where she majored in Political Science, minored in Italian language and literature and obtained a concentration in music history.  She attended medical school at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, NY and completed her residency in internal medicine at Tulane University Health Sciences Center. She obtained her MPH at the Tulane School of Public Health in Epidemiology.

Dr. Fotino works as an attending physician at University Medical Center both as a hospitalist and in the ambulatory care clinic, as well as in private integrative practice. She is the Director for the Integrative Medicine elective for first and second-year medical students. Her current research interest focuses on the impact of nutritional intervention on treatment of pulmonary Tuberculosis, with an emphasis on the indigenous populations in Lima, Peru.

Dr. Fotino has worked internationally with Doctors for Global Health in Chiapas, Mexico and has clinical experience in Haiti and Romania. Her domestic volunteer work includes serving as a faculty supervisor at the student-run clinic Ozanam Inn Outreach Clinic and Luke's House Clinic. Dr. Fotino is interested in teaching, nutrition and integrative medicine.
