Michael Landry, MD, MSc

Dr. Michael Landry joined the Tulane University Health Sciences Center and the Tulane University Medical School faculty in 2002, with a dual appointment in the Departments of Medicine and Pediatrics.

Dr. Landry is actively involved in medical administration, clinical care of Veteran patients, medical education and quality improvement/system redesign.  Dr. Landry became Chief of Medicine at the SLVHCS in 2013 and is actively involved in opening the new Southeast Louisiana Veterans Healthcare hospital in New Orleans.  He oversees the Medicine Service line with 140 FTEE that provides care to 60,000+ Veterans in Southeast Louisiana and the surrounding regions.  He has trained in Six Sigma as well as yellow, green and black belt training in LEAN.

Dr. Landry has presented to several local and national audiences and is a reviewer for several national journals. His community highlights include serving as Medical Director of the Louisiana Pulmonary Disease Camp, Inc. and the Medical Director for the Louisiana Lions Camp.  He also serves as an Assistant Scoutmaster for a local Boy Scout troop.

Interests:

Dr. Landry's clinical research interests involve system redesign and quality improvement initiatives. His research has focused on the care of children and adults with chronic medical conditions and the transition of care from pediatric to adult healthcare providers and health systems.
